Global Blood Therapeutics (GBT) Recruits Molly Ryan as Head of Government Affairs and Policy

Molly Ryan has joined GBT to lead the Company’s global initiatives in government affairs and policy.  As GBT continues its focus on the discovery, development and delivery of life-changing treatments for underserved patient communities, beginning with sickle cell disease, Ms. Ryan will leverage her extensive biotechnology and pharmaceutical experience as a trusted and recognized expert in legislative affairs, alliance development, and regulatory policy across the health care industry. At GBT, Ms. Ryan will oversee policy development impacting patients living with sickle cell disease in the US, Europe, and Africa. Ms. Ryan joins GBT after eight years with Otsuka, where she most recently served as Head of Government Affairs and Advocacy for the North America Pharmaceutical Business. She spent the prior 11 years with Baxter Healthcare.

Ms. Ryan is the co-founder of Washington Heads of Office (WHOO) and volunteers her time on the Public Affairs Council, Congressional Award Foundation, and the California State Society. She holds an undergraduate degree and MBA from the University of Nairobi, and a degree in Global Business and Public Policy from the University of Maryland.
