Reza Afkhami Selected as Senior Vice President of Corporate Development and Strategy for GBT

Global Blood Therapeutics (GBT), a biopharmaceutical company dedicated to the discovery, development and delivery of life-changing treatments that provide hope to underserved patient communities, starting with sickle cell disease, appointed Reza Afkhami as Senior Vice President of Corporate Development and Strategy. Reza brings more than 17 years of global business development, corporate strategy, commercial planning and finance experience to GBT, including work spanning discovery through commercial stage enterprises. Most recently, Mr. Afkhami served as Vice President of Corporate Development and Strategy for Surrozen, with prior biopharmaceutical experience at Prothena and CV Therapeutics. He received his undergraduate degree in international economics from Georgetown University, and his MBA from UC Berkeley.
