Chartwell Partners is pleased to announce that, following a comprehensive and deliberative search process, Stephen Curley has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of EagleBank. Curley, who most recently served as Chief Banking Officer for National Lines at Western Alliance Bank, will assume his new responsibilities on July 6 and will also join EagleBank’s Board of Directors.
Curley brings more than sixteen years of progressive leadership experience from Western Alliance, where he oversaw specialized mortgage services, corporate finance, municipal lending, affordable housing initiatives, information technology, bank operations, branch banking, product development, and third‑party risk management. In his new role at EagleBank, Curley will be accountable for strengthening the institution’s long‑term performance and stability, evaluating the bank’s business lines, and guiding the organization through a period of strategic balance‑sheet diversification while maintaining disciplined credit and risk practices.
As Chief Executive Officer, Curley will provide EagleBank with overarching leadership in the development of strategic and annual business plans, the establishment of operating goals and performance standards, the recruitment and retention of executive talent, and the alignment of management and staff around key corporate objectives. His initial ninety‑day assessment will focus on identifying the bank’s core strengths and opportunities for prudent expansion across commercial and industrial banking, consumer banking, and residential lending, while sustaining EagleBank’s longstanding presence in commercial real estate finance.
